Our Mission
At Character Sports, we believe that sports implicitly teaches children different character traits that will stay with them for the rest of their lives. If these athletes don't have a coach that is being intentional with their approach, they might be encouraging bad habits. Traits such as respect, integrity, accountability, discipline, leadership, and many more can easily be intertwined with a child's love for a particular sport. All of our programs will be centered around these principles and all participants will convey these traits, including coaches and officials. We believe that these principles will improve the quality of life for anybody that chooses to participate with us.

Jay Damron
Founder / Executive Coach
Jay is the founder and executive coach of Character Sports and was a two-sport athlete at his high school in Carroll County, KY. He played four years of basketball and six years of soccer at Carroll County High School. Throughout school, his father coached youth basketball and soccer and Jay would be actively involved in coaching with him. He would instruct during practices and camps alike. He has always been involved with youth sports and loves watching a player he has coached excel and grow, even beyond sports. Jay is married to Amber Damron, a former athlete at Corbin High School. Together they are proud parents to Loren Damron, his true inspiration into combining sports, and character building into one endeavor.
